(full-time – 37,5 hours, location De Kwakel NL)

Our Research & Development Vegetables department, is responsible for breeding and developing new vegetable varieties. To support these tasks, we are looking for a motivated Crop Caretaker.

 

What you will do

You will work in a small team of crop caretakers on all cultivation aspects in support of breeding trials. This includes spotting diseases and insect pests, spraying with pesticides and general greenhouse and field work such as sowing, growing plants, planting and harvesting. To perform these tasks, various machines such as tractors with spitters, lawnmower and fertilizer spreader will be used. If you like, you can learn to use the climate computer and make planning.

What we expect of you

We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague with a passion for plants and preferably with an agricultural education and/or relevant experience in cultivation. You like to roll up your sleeves and keep a cool head during busy periods. You master the Dutch and/or English language, are flexible, service-oriented and enjoy learning. Having a sprayer’s license is an advantage. Finally, you are willing to work weekends now and then.

Introductory meeting
If we see a match, we’ll be happy to send you an invitation for an introductory meeting. This can take place via Teams or on location. During this conversation you’ll meet your future manager and the HR manager. You will be asked exploratory questions and there is room for your questions also.
On-site job interview
You will be invited to the Takii Europe head office for the second meeting. You get a first impression of our organization and you can meet future colleagues. In this meeting the activities of the position and collaboration with other colleagues/departments are discussed in further detail. Some of these colleagues are also present during the conversation. A great opportunity to ask them what their working day looks like and what drives them.
Assessment and reference check
